This is a strong response to one of the toughest streets in the country. Through bold and pragmatic materials and devices including perforated metal, external bridges and circulation areas and the excellent re-use of portal frames, the architects have defined generous outdoor spaces for lecture and service areas and ensured that the building makes a positive contribution to the wider environment.
