If one building could represent Hamilton’s central city zeitgeist then perhaps it could be this: an intriguingly angled insertion into an existing commercial building that was prefabricated on an adjacent site before being craned into position and completed. Thoughtfulness pervades the new structure, which cantilevers out towards the river below: recession planes have been carefully considered to respect neighbours’ views; the open-plan work environment is arranged for collaborative and independent work; and the curved corner deck – with balustrade detailed in sympathy with park elements below – extends the interior out to a prime riverside setting.
