Pointy Flat House reflects the personality of its owners through the scale of its spaces, the use of materials, and moments of colour, creating a carefully considered design. Open areas for gathering are balanced with quieter spaces that offer privacy and retreat. Simple interior detailing and a cleverly designed ceiling help draw attention from the living area back toward the kitchen and dining spaces. The angular exterior forms respond to the surrounding mountain landscape. A clear relationship is established between the existing concrete shed, the timber crib, and the new extension, creating a strong spatial hierarchy. The exterior cladding is thoughtfully chosen and reinforces the project’s connection to its site.
