This elegant shed, sited with lightness and poise, is, impressively, part gateway, part shelter and part information post for visitors to Rotoroa Island, formerly the site of a Salvation Army rehabilitation centre. Fine vertical timber battens slung beneath the roof line give depth and shadow to the form. Beneath the protective roof, platforms, steps and a ramp connect to allow passage through or gathering within the building.
