This renovation thoughtfully reworks the home’s layout to improve its connection to both the landscape and natural light. Living spaces have been carefully reoriented to create strong visual links from the northern outdoor areas, through the centre of the house, to wide southern views across Lyttelton Harbour. The result is a calm and easy-to-understand plan that improves outlook and everyday living. A bold entry canopy marks the arrival before opening into relaxed, bach-like dining and living spaces. At the centre of the home, a taco-shaped island creates a strong social focus, supported by a carefully designed kitchen and scullery tailored to the clients’ needs. Playful yet controlled, the project shows how thoughtful planning can transform a home’s connection to place.
