Te Auaha
Te Auaha houses a complex series of educational programmes that range from hairdressing and make-up to film studios and creative writing. This vibrant fit-out spans five floors; on each level functional demarcations are clearly indicated through the strong use of colour and exposed structural and service elements, all of which combine to create a cohesive and fun ‘factory-of-education’ feel. With full-height double-glazing in all learning and dance studios and throughout the main spaces, and through the use of circulation spaces as extensions of teaching spaces, the architects have achieved admirable openness and activity.
