Wynyard Central Master Plan
Wynyard Quarter is Auckland’s premiere new precinct for live, work and play. A place where urban planning is profoundly reimagined to deliver delight around every corner and down every lane, where the old rules about how traffic behaves are reinvented and so are the rules about how people might exist and interact on the street, where there’s a new, splendid sense of what everyone there gets to look at, take part in, be stimulated by and, simply, enjoy. The masterplan is the key to making that happen. In the hands of Architectus, the Wynyard Central masterplan has unleashed a great creative flowering of architecture and urban design, setting a benchmark for the entire city that all other precincts must now aspire to match. From planting to road design, from building after exciting building, right down to the splendid architecture of the streets, it’s lovely down in the Wynyard Quarter. This is the city all Aucklanders deserve to live in.
