This project thoughtfully incorporates Kāi Tahu cultural narratives through carefully crafted features such as laser-cut panels and expressive spatial elements. The entry stair reflects the diverse identities of the tamariki and gives clear form to the idea of inclusion. Materials have been chosen for durability and long-term performance. The building is well positioned to create strong visual connections to both the city and the playground, helping connect students to their surroundings. Deep canopies on the north façade reduce solar gain while supporting a consistent architectural language. Simple forms and materials are used throughout the project, creating student spaces that feel clear, engaging, and easy to use.
