A multipurpose facility completed for the 2010 World Rowing Championships at Lake Karapiro, the Don Rowlands Centre will be a valuable community asset for years to come. Well constructed, using a well chosen palette of robust materials in finishes appropriate to its natural setting, the building is both solid and elegant, with its massing restrained on the entry side and its full scale revealed on the lake side.
