Double Gable House is an L-shaped home arranged around a rear entry courtyard. Two carefully detailed gabled forms are paired with a flat-roofed volume, creating a clear and balanced composition. The living areas are positioned to capture views of the surrounding mountains and use robust materials, including locally sourced stone and rich timber, to strengthen the building’s connection to its setting. A well-designed covered outdoor space creates a flexible transition area that supports the living spaces, while circulation through the bedroom wing is carefully handled. A sliding screen allows the bedroom spaces to be closed off, reinforcing the shift between the flat and gabled roof forms and strengthening the overall architectural composition.
