Early reimagining of the building within its place and wider context has allowed the architect and Rangitāne to further develop the co-design in the interior. The entry features pixelated tiled huia images that support student learning and connect them to the natural world. The main stair rises to a dramatic yellow light created by film integrated within the glass. The student social space has strong visual links to the exterior. The building contains highly sophisticated laboratories, teaching spaces, research areas, and offices within a carefully controlled environment.
