A vision of the future has arrived in Puhinui. This super-sized station offers an interchange facility linking bus routes to rail while awaiting the completion of an east/west elevated concourse which will complete the crossroads. A sweeping roofscape smooths the transition from trackside to the ticketing hall, in turn easing the up and over transition to the buses which are temporarily still at the street level. Well-considered planning of the platforms and at the ticketing hall level anticipate the expansion consistent with the envisaged transport hub masterplan. The sculptural roof form offers a landmark for the neighbourhood and a sign for the communities future.
