This is a skilful modernisation of a collection of near-derelict buildings. The deliberate retention of the traditional shop front has preserved the local streetscape; while, in behind, the owners have received a comfortable modern office fit in which they can showcase and grow their business. A highlight of the work is the bold roof extension – a successful unifying device that provides volume and brings light into the building’s heart.
