An intelligent reworking of a once closed building creates a more open, people-focused environment for a philanthropic organisation. A central atrium is carved into the deep plan, bringing in light, improving orientation, and enabling a flexible layout. The lower floor is simple and materially raw, with colour and elements that support work and gathering. Sunscreening and fascia express the presence of mana whenua and reflect kaitiakitanga and manaakitanga. Bespoke bronze door handles and detailed pegboard screens highlight the collaborative design process.
