This clever piece of urban architecture combines civic space with community hall and library to inject new life into Woolston’s main street. A playful array of locally made bricks adorns the façade, speaking of Woolston’s industrial past, accentuated by black steel and timber within a simple form that references vernacular local architecture. Light-filled and adaptable spaces make this an inviting and comfortable place suitable for any activity, from intimate reading sessions through to large community events. It is a transformative step in the renewal of Ferry Road.
