Our Members
Through its members, Te Kāhui Whaihanga New Zealand Institute of Architects is the collective voice for architecture in Aotearoa. Membership – either individual or practice – is regarded as an indication of professional excellence.
Through Friends of Architecture, our free public programme, we inspire awareness, knowledge and conversation about the factors that lead to great design outcomes.
The Institute exists to help members achieve their goals of providing the people of Aotearoa with the best possible built environment. From students with long careers ahead of them to registered architects with impressive achievements, we build community in the profession and promote members’ interests.
We produce material essential to architects’ practice, operate design and technical programmes to educate our members, and run a rigorous peer-reviewed awards programme that sets the benchmark for architecture in Aotearoa. There are many benefits in becoming a member.
