New Zealand Customs Service
The much needed renovation of the ground floor of The Customhouse in Auckland presented the ideal opportunity to present an improved client face to the building (The previous reception was on the 8th floor). The brief was quite demanding in terms of number of functions and people that needed to be provided for, yet the end result feels spacious, light, and cohesive. Several themes were continued and evolved from the reception fitout for Customs Service in wellington, maintaining a similar but updated colour palette. The workspaces in the open plan office area were located contiguously around the perimeter area, with storage, filing and utilities located around the core and ends to allow for flexibility of future staff requirements.
