City Talks X Living With Exhibition Launch (NO REGISTRATION NECESSARY)
Join us for the official Wellington launch of the international exhibition ‘Living With” accompanied by a City Talks presentation by Architect Brendan MacFarlane of Paris based architectural practice Jacob+MacFarlane. Brendan will discuss the firm's most recent work and the evolution of the “Living With” exhibition.
Born in New Zealand, Brendan MacFarlane holds a master’s degree from the Harvard Graduate School of Design and graduated from the Southern California Institute of Architecture (SCI-Arc). In 1998, he co-founded Jakob+MacFarlane with Dominique Jakob, establishing a multidisciplinary, multicultural Paris practice known for innovative, socially and environmentally responsive architecture.
MacFarlane has taught at leading institutions including Harvard, the Bartlett, the Architectural Association, SCI-Arc and Rice University. Key projects include the French University of Egypt campus in Cairo; Community House in Knokke-Heist, Belgium; the Renaud-Barrault Library renovation in Avignon; Frac Centre in Orléans; the Orange Cube and Euronews headquarters in Lyon; the Docks – Cité de la Mode et du Design, and Restaurant Georges at the Centre Pompidou in Paris. In 2025, Jakob+MacFarlane represented France at the Venice Architecture Biennale.

City Talks is an ongoing lecture series by the Wellington branch of Te Kahui Whaihunga / New Zealand institute of architects. Going for over a decade, City Talks has been bringing thought provoking presentations from a diverse range of speakers on a wide range of topics related to the built environment.
