2025 Western Architecture Awards Winner
Kaitake House
This project recognises the design of a sustainable, single-level home for a young family, focused on passive principles and cost-effective construction. The use of high-performance materials, including thermally broken windows, solar power, and hydronic heating ensures both comfort and energy efficiency. The design, inspired by the Kaitake Ranges and rural setting, fits seamlessly into its rural context. The project successfully balances environmental responsibility with family living, offering a practical yet sustainable home that responds thoughtfully to its surroundings.
