A confident and well-executed building on a busy promenade has been designed and constructed with a restrained material palette respectful of context and promising enduring quality. The architects’ understanding of local climatic conditions is evident in the solar protection strategies they have pursued, and their appreciation for the project’s civic aspect is exemplified by the treatment accorded to the entrance and the building’s more public areas.
