DPA are award winning architects based in Devonport, Auckland, with an emphasis on preserving & enhancing New Zealand’s built heritage.We are currently working on large-scale restoration projects, including the Auckland Art Gallery & Rotorua Museum, as well as new builds, villa restorations & commercial fitouts throughout Auckland & further afield.
The role:
• You will work alongside an enthusiastic & motivated team of experienced & newly qualified architects, technicians, designers & researchers/historians in a heritage-listed office in the heart of Devonport village, with easy access to public transport.
• You will work on an interesting & varied range of projects, including conservation, restoration & seismic strengthening of churches, heritage-listed buildings, & historic villas as well as designs for new builds of houses, apartments & commercial interior fitouts.
• This is ideally a full-time position, but hours can be negotiated. We offer a flexible working environment with the potential to work remotely on occasion.
The ideal candidate for this role:
• A passionate & motivated Intermediate or Senior Architect / Draughtsperson with a minimum of 5 years experience within the New Zealand architectural profession.
• Sound knowledge of NZ building codes & standards (NZS 3604).
• A proven track record & knowledge of New Zealand construction methodologies.
• Can demonstrate technical knowledge through detailed design & documentation processes, & coordination of projects from concept to delivery.
• Strong communication & relationship-building skills with clients, consultants, Council & other statutory bodies.
• Experience & an interest in heritage architecture is preferred but not essential.
