The Role
A rewarding opportunity has opened for a Registered Architect to join our Wellington team. You’ll play a key role in delivering high quality architectural outcomes, working closely with our directors, consultants, contractors, and clients. You will run jobs end to end, from early design through consent, tender, construction, and close out, while safeguarding design intent and maintaining delivery rigour.
What You Will Be Doing
Design & Documentation
• Contributing to and shaping design thinking to achieve high quality outcomes
• Leading Revit based documentation packages and managing issue registers and revisions
• Developing documentation for tender, consent, and construction stages
Coordination & Collaboration
• Working closely with directors, clients, consultants, and contractors
• Chairing/attending coordination, user group and site meetings
• Capturing actions clearly and following through to maintain project momentum
Site Observation & Contract Administration
• Undertaking site observation, quality reviews, and managing contractor communications
• Administering contracts under NZ conditions (e.g., NZS 3910
• Making well reasoned, pragmatic decisions that safeguard design intent
Team Contribution
• Providing design and technical expertise that enhances project outcomes
• Mentoring graduates and supporting their registration journey
• Contributing positively to the culture of our studio
What You Will Bring
• Registered Architect (NZRAB)
• 3–10+ years’ experience in an architectural practice, including proven job running responsibilities
• Strong collaboration, design, and documentation skills on high quality architectural projects
• Excellent drawing, written, and verbal communication skills
• Strong Revit capability and understanding of NZ-specific documentation workflows
• Good working knowledge of codes, consenting processes, and Masterspec
• Confident, calm, and professional approach to client engagement and site-based problem solving
• Strong time management and organisational abilities
Nice to haves: Experience in health, education, civic or workplace projects; familiarity with NZS 3910/3915/3916; BIM 360/ACC, Bluebeam.
