The internationally acclaimed architect Francis Kéré garnered critical praise from the beginning of his architectural practice when awarded the prestigious Aga Khan Award for Architecture (2004) for his first ever building – a primary school he designed, raised the funds for, and realised in collaboration with the residents of his home village, Gando, in Burkina Faso. View Ports – (re)framing local perspectives

View Ports is a creative space, experimenting with rapid techniques for capturing and reproducing images and story. An empty urban shop is turned into an interactive environment offering ways to (re)frame views and inviting ideas for how we intersect with our built environment and our future realities.

Daily Drawing 'Walkshops'

Whakatū Nelson: Running daily from 16-19 September

Explore little traveled pathways and remembered views. Uncover hidden aspects and unfamiliar corners in the local urban spaces surrounding Bridge Street. Invigorate your drawing practice and find fresh perspectives to add to a community generated creative response to our built surroundings. Walkshops run twice daily, at 10am and 1pm. All materials will be provided.
