Selected Project

Wellington Street Home

With a family of four moving into this 1960s concrete block townhouse, it needed to expand to comfortably accommodate their various needs. One in a row of several on the street, it was very important not to interfere with the rhythm and scale that these townhouses create. By pushing out in several directions and adding a garage, integrity to the streetscape is retained, while the internal story has been expanded. Kitchen, dining and living are contained in an L-shape, which helps delineate different zones within a modest footprint. With the dining and living areas opening up to a rear courtyard, the design maximises space and a sense of openness for its inhabitants.
