Selected Project

Takapuna House

The existing building is a Lockwood house in Takapuna. The brief was to design a new kitchen, entry porch and canopy, and modernise the existing interior. The new canopy is glazed to allow light to flood the new porch and the structure has been painted white to brighten and modernise the area as much as possible. The glazed roof falls with the existing slope of the land onto the existing roof and gutters to minimise costs. The new kitchen and interior is also white, clean and light. Ceilings have been lined, windows re-glazed with thermally efficient glazing, and new floor tiles with underfloor heating. The result is an enjoyable place, which is light, modern and warm.
