Hahei Beach House
A beautiful site, immediately leading on to the beach front meant that the design response needed to be a good neighbour. Designed to accomodate up to 15 people, the architectural response was for the plan to work like an accordion, able to accomodate three families together as well as a single family comfortably. There is a natural progression of rooms both inside and out depending on the time of the day. A breezeway ventilation core allows for continuous flow of air to circulate from the centre of the house to the upper levels taking advantage of the reliability of the sea breeze.
